It's nice to see others are enjoying it as much as we are. A little bit about the vineyard: Head trained vines planted in 1958. Farmed by the Maley Brothers. This vineyard is situated near Oak Farm Vineyards winery on the west side of Lodi. Rootstock is St. George and the ground is sandy loam. Typical of Old Vine Zin, this vineyard yields only around 3 tons per acre, far less than what a younger, trellis trained vineyard would normally produce. This allows for a more concentrated energy for the vine to give to the fruit as there are few clusters per vine.
