Medium bodied with bright cherry and beautiful strawberry, cola and spice aromas. We feel the wine balances rich flavor with a texture that is rewarding from start to finish on this famous Italian varietal.
Grapes came from a single vineyard farmed by Round Valley Ranches. The Cosi Bella Vineyard is a special small vineyard in the Mokelumne River portion of the Lodi Appellation.
First, the grapes were brought into the winery on 8/13/15 mid morning while the fruit was still cool. Fruit was destemmed and then cold soaked for a few days. Yeast was then added to the must and the fermentation really started to get going around the 17th. Grapes were then pressed and the juice spent some time in tank going through Malolactic fermentation before being transferred to barrels. Where they sat aging before being bottled almost a year later.
